Monitoring of the PC Corsac SQL recorder' correct work can be carried out in two different ways. The first one is realised by the Monitor WMI module. It is installed on a different station in the network and it is programmed in the manner of its references (control) to the recording application and the situations are defined in which the persons appointed as supervisors are to be informed - if it is to inform on a cyclical basis on the correct work or only on emergencies. This monitor is physically and logically separated from the recorder which makes the controlling module independent of the recorder's possible failures which could impact the Monitor WMI itself.
Another way of controlling the PC Corsac SQL recorder's correct work is realised by the Monitor SV module. It is installed on the same station as the recording application and it works in the screen saver mode. In this manner it not only monitors applications but it also protects it from the access by unauthorised persons.

Commencing from the 2.7 version of PC Corsac SQL software the functions of recorder's state monitoring were introduced. These actions can be set up in a very flexible manner. The monitor can inform the user both on the correct work of the recorder and on the emergencies or appearing threats. The emergency can consist in e.g. the equipment damage of one of the channels or incorrect entries into the base of recordings. The threat can be e.g. the excess of the free space on the disc specified in the set up designed for storing recordings.
The monitoring software checks in line with the programmed procedure the recorder's state once or cyclically with the assumed frequency in line with the schedule of tasks. The monitoring action enters the message into the system log and sends an e-mail both in the case of success and failure of planned activities.
In addition, the entire monitoring history along with its chronology - emerging errors, threats, the moment of failure, etc. - is saved and stored in the data-base.
Based on the messages transmitted from the screen the ahead planned repair or administrative actions can be automatically undertaken.
The monitor is an operating module. It can be a part of PC Corsac SQL software or represent an independent surveillance application located in a different place in the network. It meets the WMI interface's standards (Windows Management Instrumentation).

The objective of the programme is the supervision over the recorder's work, control of free space on the working disks and on the disks which are designed for an archive as well as alarming in case of irregularities. This control is carried out on a permanent basis and it is not connected to the schedule of other tasks.
Programme functions:
- Control of the size of free space on the disks which are called as follows:
- Recordings - da disk on which the base of recordings is located,
- Archives - another disk including e.g. archives
- System - a system disk.
- control of the calls recorder service - PC Corsac SQL and its automatic renewal,
- alerting emergency states through visual, acoustic signalling and e-mail,
- visual presentation of the use of memory and processor,
- protection of access to the recorder through the work in the screen saver mode protected by a password,
- control and signalling of the state of devices (telephone cards) and telephone lines. The state of installed devices (active, inactive) and the state of line (discovery of the broken connection with a telephone line) is controlled. In case of discovering a change in the state an information e-mail is generated,
- preparation of the recordings disk - two options of this function are possible. If the recordings disk does not include the partition, then it is created, formatted and such a letter of disk is allocated to it as was previously used for recordings. This function can be launched automatically after restarting the computer. It is used when the recordings disk is located on a physically independent disk. The disk preparation can be also called "manually". Then it causes the removal of data base and all the files from the existing recordings disk. It is used in the systems working in the RAID1 mode, with the system partition and the partition of recordings located on the same mirrored disk.
