Fax visualisation

The RTFaxDecoder module has been designed to visualise analogue fax transmissions registered in sound recordings. It uses advanced sound analysis techniques, and therefore it decodes transmitted documents quickly and efficiently. When a recording has been decoded, the corresponding document is saved in a TIF graphic file, and additionally, all information on the process of negotiation between fax machines is displayed.

When calls are recorded, PCCorsacSQL identifies the occurrence of a fax transmission automatically. A recording comprising such transmission is stored uncompressed in the recording base in order to make decoding of the transmitted document possible. In the Remote number field, a remote fax ID is filled in, preceded by the FID prefix. Such recording is assigned the FAX status, and thus recordings that comprise fax transmissions can be filtered easily.
